In another attempt to extort additional money out of county workers and retirees, the government wants to QUADRUPLE the county school tax. It would go from $25 per $100,000 of taxable property value to $100 per $100,000 of taxable property value. This would create a cost of $400 for a $400,000 property, an increase of $300 each year. The proposal would NOT allow funds to go to charter schools.
From all sources, the School Board’s budget is $3 billion. We can find $150 million of wasteful administrative costs before forcing all Palm Beach County residents to fork over their hard earned wages. This additional tax will grossly adverse the poor in our county who pay rent. We oppose this property tax proposal and encourage all Palm Beach County voters to vote NO this November.
Palm Beach County voters will vote whether to approve or to stand up against this outrageous tax in the general election - VOTE NO!
